Greed, sloth... and lust.

Ooops, I did it again. Forgot it was my turn to post. This is because I'm still in a state of extreme lethargy brought on by an extended (Thursday to Tuesday) Easter weekend of over-indulgence and laziness. Here are the stats.

Calories ingested in the form of chocolate and hot cross buns:
5 678 392 (approx)

Units of alcohol: Similar to above figure

Words added to wip: 0

Days left until RNA lunch at Savoy when all effects of chocolate and wine must be erased: 15

In this situation I always find denial and distraction are excellent coping strategies. So while I go and finish up the last half bar of Green & Black's butterscotch chocolate for breakfast, here is a lovely picture of James d'Arcy for us all to enjoy.

Mmmm....

India, darling, you know calories don't count if you're having a good time. It's a scientific fact.

As for yummy D'Arcy. He looks naked in that photo. Any possibilities of a body-shot to confirm? In the name of science, love, I swear.

In this photo he looks more mature than your usual type, India.

How excited are you by the RNA lunch at the venerable Savoy? (Thought you could just slide that in there, didn't ya, huh!)

Goodness, was so engrossed with Mr. D'Arcy, I totally missed the mention of the Savoy!

Yes, yes, yes, Brown. NAKED! Which I think more than makes up for the maturity thing. I like his shoulders. Very much.

Savoy. Hmm. Excitement mixed with that kind of sinking feeling you get as an event looms, you've just put on half a stone in chocolate and you have nothing whatsoever to wear. Do you think we could do a blog makeover on me?

You're utterly beautiful, India! Were we to attempt a blog makeup - how on earth do we do that?! - you would no doubt end up teaching us a few things about glamour.

You will get on swimmingly, dahhling, no doubt about it.

Is Annie going too? And Penny?

Tell you what, India - we'll share a bottle of wine at the Saviy - then we'll feel virtuous because we won't drink a whole bottle each - you can't be shy or nervous because you'll be able to hold on to my apron strings (What? Of course I always wear an apron to the Savoy) And we can get togther and discuss lovely men again - and I'll tell you all about James D'A and maybe - just maybe be able to drop a hint about that other little secret I'm hoping might come true . . .

See you there.

Kate

PS You did ask to be put on the M&B table? That's where all the naughty girls - ahem - all the intellectuals - hang out

YES! I did ask to be on the M&B table Kate, so I really hope we'll be in wine- (and secret-) sharing distance of each other.

OK everybody-- forget what I said earlier.

I'm excited!

(and so grateful to Kate and her apron strings-- which, being hers, manage to be simultaneously comforting and drop-dead glamorous.)

Eva-- No Annie. (sad)

No Penny. (sad)

But Kate.... (happy!)

Envy, that's what I'm feeling. The Savoy. James D'A. Shoulders. Whatnot. Feeling decidedly left out.

Good thing Sid came and blogged for me. And that RUBY (not Rosie) came to visit. You must come, too, India. You don't need to hang onto anyone's apron strings there.

Oh Anne, don't talk to me about envy. Did you know that that minxy Ms K Walker has actually seen The Glorious James in REAL LIFE?

I'd love to come to your blog, but very much fear I'd only lower the tone now. Sid is so charming, urbane, charismatic... and all I ever talk about is how much chocolate I've eaten and how little writing I've done. Although lately I'm also quite fond of pondering on the loveliness of J...

What do you think? Do you reckon his beautiful shoulders could carry a whole post??
