T G I F
It's been a crazy week, and the martinis and manhattans are already flowing - with the guests soon to arrive - so I can't possibly manage a coherent post. Better luck next week.
Here's to the weekend, and to summer, which over here (at least for me) officially ends Tuesday with my daughter's return to school.

I'm so jealous! My kids still have almost two weeks before they go back to school. Drink a martini for me, girl!
Raise a glass for me--I'm on wine and can't mix alcohol...is there a school for kittens? Mine are beyond insane and I definitely think they need some lessons in manners!
Best of luck to your little one on her first day back at school!
Thanks, girls!
Actually, in typical motherly fashion, I have mixed feelings about the back-to-school issue. It's good to get back into routine - let's face it, it's tough getting things done when the kids are at home or even at camp (working, writing, even cleaning the house) - but it's so, so sad to see the summer go. Boo hoo.
Yeah it is sad to see summer go, although we never really had one here this year. A few sunny days thrown in for good measure but for the most part we didn't get as much sun and warmth as I would have liked. For example, today it's rainy and about 60 degrees, same yesterday and the day before that...I think summer is already over here.
It sounds like you've had a similar summer, Marie, to our friends in the UK - minus the flooding, of course.
Personally, I feel an ode to summer coming on...sigh.
